I would have to say my biggest hero when I was small was McGrath.
Of course Albee was big news when I was small. I have a photo of him and me when I was about seven years old. He was also on a TV talk show once and I phoned in with a question - my first time on TV!
I have met him, but we don't realy have contact

You rule! how does it come that all of you pro riders have almost all the same style of riding? When i see how you guys set up for a corner (arm-style), taking a corner, jumping tabletops, pushing the bike in the air.. Are you trained on your style of riding?"
Thanks. The riders do still have different styles, if you compare Stefan Everts to Joel Smets for instance. Some things stay the same, because those are things that make you faster, and all the pro's will do them.
There are good reasons speed wise to keep your elbow up (except Tanel Leok) and to absorb jumps, and to stand a lot etc.
I think after learning the basics, every rider develops his own style after a while.

why is it good to keep the elbows up? can you tell us the basics of a good mx style? so we as amateurs can learn to ride better..

You can do an experiment. Do a push-up with your arms folded flat against your body, and then do one with your elbows out to the side. You will see that the second time is much easier. That is because your arms are now better levers.
Now test something else. Slide your hand over the table with no weight on it. It will slide easily. Now force down on it, and you will see that it grips on the table. That means if you want your tyres to grip better around corners, you have to force down the bike, especially at the front.
For general tips, the most important thing that I learnt was to stand a lot. If you grip the bike with your legs and learn to control your balance, things improve a lot. It may feel strange at first, but it will definitely improve your riding.

Dave Brigg

Ik verkies tear-offs, daar roll-off's vaak problemen opleverde. Afhangend van de baan, gebruik ik 14-21

Ik ben zeker zo geboren, he!

Now the question? What do you think from Kerim Fitzgerald?? Can he become a top 10 rider in the GP's?
Hanssie"
Thanks, I will tell him.
I know Kerim but I haven't really seen him ride for a long time, so it's hard to judge. I think he has talent, but he must get into regular international competition very soon if he hopes to make it. He will learn nothing more racing against the same riders in SA all the time. The tracks, the speed and everything are completely different in Europe.

greetingszzz "
I think no one can deny that the fourstrokes are good and getitng better all the time, that's why there are so few two strokes left. The advantage that a fourstroke has depends on the track. Where the track is slippery with steep uphills where the fourstroke's easy power puts more traction down, they have moer of an advantage than other tracks.
I think that I have shown that a two stroke can still hang with the fourstrokes if ridden hard.

Thanks for asking. My shoulder hurts quite a bit now, and I'll be in physiotherapy for the rest of the week. I will decide on Friday whether I race the British championships next weekend.
I landed on some downed bikes because the marchall didn't warn the riders about a crash after the step=up
